Core Beliefs
The teachers, staff, parents and administration of Laurus Academy
strongly believe that:
1. All students can learn.
2. All children can grow socially and academically in an environment that is conducive to learning.
3. All children must be provided with equal access to a guaranteed and viable curriculum.
4. Positive relationships have a significant impact on academic achievement.
Moral Focus
At Laurus Academy, we believe great schools train both a student’s heart and mind. Our moral focus program is designed to support our parents’ efforts to teach character at home by reinforcing and modeling universal human virtues, such as compassion, respect, and integrity. A different virtue is featured each month of the school year and is supported by curriculum in the classroom. The moral focus, which is exemplified at every daily morning assembly, creates a school environment that is physically and emotionally safe.
Each day at Laurus Academy begins with a student assembly in which students recite the Pledge of Allegiance, sing a patriotic song, and recite the following Student Creed:
“I am a Laurus student. I strive to achieve academic excellence.
I exemplify high moral character. I work diligently to prepare for
the future. I know my success in school and in life is dependent on
my own efforts and the choices I make.”
